Lighthouse Lens, Lighthouse Lighting

A lighthouse is a building located on a coast, port or river that directs the direction of the vessel.

Most of the lighthouses resemble the shape of a tower, and the light is directed at the sea through the lens system at the top of the tower.

Some lighthouses have become popular tourist destinations, but some lighthouses are not open for visits due to factors such as national defense.

The most famous lighthouses in Taiwan are the Eluanbi Lighthouse with East Asia Light and the longest fishing island lighthouse.

The Fresnel lens was invented by French physicist Augustin Fresnel, who first used this design to build a glass Fresnel lens - lighthouse lens in 1822.
